General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Principal Regulatory Compliance Analyst supports compliance initiatives for Consumers Energy, ensuring adherence to the standards and requirements of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Regional Reliability Organizations, Independent System Operators (ISOs), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and the Department of Energy. The incumbent is regarded as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and collaborates cross-functionally to develop reliability compliance policies and procedures through extensive research and analysis. This role is responsible for reviewing correspondence with regulatory authorities, preparing committee presentations and related materials, and managing audit preparation and response activities. The individual interfaces regularly with senior leadership to provide compliance reporting and certifications. Additionally, the role includes developing and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor compliance program performance and ensuring the program remains audit-ready at all times. The analyst researches, analyzes, selects, and applies program management concepts, methodologies, and techniques to ensure compliance requirements are met. This includes participating in industry discussions and forums to influence the development of new and modified regulatory requirements and ensuring that testing methods and control processes at Consumers Energy sites remain within regulatory standards.
