Marketing/Communications and Business Development Summer Intern

Location:

Dallas, TX

Overview:

Huitt-Zollars is seeking a dynamic self-starter to assist with marketing, communications, and business development efforts at our corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience and gain insight into a broad range of marketing and business development functions for an award-winning, national design firm.

Job Description:

Marketing & Communications

  • Assist in management and development of consistent and on-going communications that support employee awareness and engagement with firm and practice initiatives.
  • Assist with planning and producing content in support of firm and market-based initiatives to include advertisements, award submittals, in-house/external brochures and collateral, presentations, promotional materials, infographics, flyers, electronic newsletters, etc.
  • Maintain, update, and enhance existing marketing and communication collateral ensuring compliance with brand identity.
  • Draft engaging branded content specific for firm's various social media accounts.
  • Create and edit video using existing project images and drone footage.

Business Development

  • Learn the comprehensive proposal/statement of qualification (SOQ)-driven business development process.
  • Work with the Marketing team to develop business development materials for submittal or presentation to potential clients.
  • Assist with producing physical deliverables (e.g., hard copies of proposals and statements of qualifications).

Knowledge Management

  • Assist with implementation of new Marketing/BD software programs (OpenAsset and Shred.ai) through uploading data into systems.
  • Assist with maintaining corporate and marketing systems/databases for supporting business development efforts (including project data, resumes and photographs of key personnel, graphics, boilerplate narrative, etc.).

Administrative

  • Participate in weekly business development meetings when available.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., Communications, Journalism, English, or Marketing.)
  • PC literacy, including experience using Adobe CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, and Premiere Pro) and the Microsoft Office suite (primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Attributes to include being enthusiastic, collegial, flexible, self-motivated, curious, organized, detail-oriented, and cheerful.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.

Added Plus:

  • Interest in architecture, design, and engineering.
  • Experience with digital photography and videography.
  • Graphic design skills, including the initiative and ability to create and implement concepts.

What to Expect as a Huitt-Zollars Intern:

As an integral part of the Marketing department, you will be working with a variety of professionals in our corporate headquarters at Lincoln Centre in Dallas, TX. Ideally, you would work with us 24 - 32 hours per week during our regular office hours of 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Friday, although your schedule can be flexible as long as it is communicated in advance. You will need to provide your own transportation; the office is in North Dallas off of the Dallas North Tollway and I-635. Internship dates and pay will be discussed during the interview process.
