Paid Time Off:

Eligible employees begin accruing PTO on their date of hire. PTO combines vacation and sick leave, starting at 15 days per year for full-time employees.

Position Description

Starting Salary: $110,000 - $150,000; depending on experience

Location: Everett, WA

Classification: Exempt

Position Overview:

Manage company fabrication policy, standards and execution through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, and document control.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review job estimates and assist Project Managers with preparing fabrication budgets.
  2. Track, forecast and report fabrication labor hours and material costs.
  3. Maintain and control fabrication documents in compliance with UMC standards as well as contractual compliance.
  4. Maintain ASME and NBIC code credentials, documentation in compliance with Quality Control Manual.
  5. Assist Shop Superintendent with maintaining company welding records, including WPS, PRQ, WPQ's and welder continuity logs.
  6. Prepare fabrication shop work packages including detail drawing review, material take off and buyout, and man-hour fabrication budget.
  7. Alongside the Shop Superintendent, ensure full compliance with the UMC Safety Program in the fabrication shop.
  8. Develop and maintain the fabrication schedule and manpower forecast.
  9. Partner with the Business Development team to pursue and secure new projects.
  10. Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  11. Collaborate with field supervisors to plan and schedule project tasks effectively.
  12. Uphold UMC's Core Values in all professional interactions.

Secondary Job Functions:

  1. Collaborate with Shop Superintendent to continue to improve the final fabricated product, shop efficiency, and shop processes and procedures.
  2. Collaborate with VCS Manager to continue to improve product that is delivered to Fabrication including, spool drawings, assembly drawings and bills of material.
  3. Collaborate with Purchasing and Warehouse managers to ensure that material is delivered to and from the Fabrication shop in a timely and efficient manner.
Position Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities:

  1. Proven experience estimating mechanical work accurately.
  2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment.
  3. Solid understanding of mechanical systems and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
  4. Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  5. High attention to detail to minimize errors and financial risk.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Results-driven with a strong sense of accountability.
  8. Proficiency in project management and collaboration software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, BIM360, Viewpoint Team, Vista, and OneNote.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  1. Direct supervision of Project Managers, Project Engineers and Project Coordinators.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Minimum of 5-10 years as a mechanical project manager.
  2. Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, or related field preferred.
  3. At least three years managing teams.

Required Licensing and Other Certifications:

  1. Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
