Job Summary: The Manager of Strategic Sourcing leads enterprise-wide strategic sourcing and supplier contracting to ensure WellSense secures highvalue, compliant, and costeffective goods and services that support organizational goals. This role oversees endtoend supplier engagement-from market assessments and competitive bidding through negotiation, renewals, amendments, and terminations-while driving multiyear category strategies, spend oversight, and continuous improvement across the procurement function. The manager ensures contract quality, regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CMS, FDR, NCQA, state mandates), in partnership with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Supplier Relationship Management. As a people leader, they set clear expectations, develop talent, manage departmental resources and budgets, and provide coaching on negotiation and stakeholder engagement. The role also prepares executivelevel reporting, identifies financial and operational risks or opportunities within the supplier portfolio, and leads initiatives that enhance value, mitigate risk, and align procurement outcomes with WellSense's strategic objectives. Our Investment in You: * Full-time remote work * Competitive salaries * Excellent benefits Key Functions/Responsibilities: * Directs and organizes strategic sourcing opportunities that effectively deliver a competitive economic advantage while maintaining or improving quality and service levels * Oversee end to end supplier contracting processes, including market assessments, option evaluation, competitive bidding, supplier selection, , term negotiation, renewals, amendments, and terminations to ensure that contracts produce value in alignment with WellSense's objectives. * Negotiate and manage complex contracts and contracts for delegated suppliers ensuring cost savings, service level agreements, performance guarantees, competitive and incentive driven pricing structures, risk mitigation, and favorable terms. * Oversee team to ensure consistency and quality in their ability to negotiate pricing, terms, service levels, and performance guarantees with suppliers to ensure value and protect organizational interests. * Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams to ensure contracts meet regulatory requirements (HIPAA, CMS, FDR, NCQA, state insurance regulations). * Partner with Supplier Relationship Management to ensure performance, quality, and risk are appropriately addressed in contracting. * Partner with senior leadership in developing, implementing, and communicating short and long-range plans, goals, and objectives. Aligns team goals with the organization's vision and strategy. * Ensures clear performance expectations along with appropriate skills sets. Fosters an effective work environment and ensures employees receive recognition, feedback and development. Participates in organizational talent management. * Provide team coaching on negotiation strategies, category expertise, and stakeholder engagement. * Determines appropriate staffing levels and resource needs, creates and manages department budgets, forecasts expected work, and allocates resources effectively to meet business needs * Prepares executive level presentations and reports to senior leadership on active contracting efforts, forecasted work, and the overall supplier contract portfolio * Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process including the evaluation of existing contracts for savings opportunities. * Proactively identify supplier contracts with financial or operating risk/opportunity to WellSense, and partner with business teams to implement contracting plans such as competitive bidding for replacement, amendment, or termination. * Implement sourcing best practices with regards to policies, internal controls, quality control, and audit readiness. Education Required: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required Education Preferred: * Master's degree in business (MBA) preferred * Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply chain management, or related field preferred Experience Required: * 2+ years of prior supervisory/team management experience * 5 + years sourcing/contracting/procurement experience * 3+ years of health insurance sourcing/contracting/procurement experience * Experience with complex supplier contracts (high value/high risk) Experience Preferred/Desirable: * Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in a healthcare environment (FDRs, CMS, NCQA, URAC, etc.) preferred * Experience with contract lifecycle management and procurement software systems Required Licensure, Certification or Conditions of Employment: * Successful completion of pre-employment background check Competencies, Skills, and Attributes: * Strong negotiation skills * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial models and cost structures * Advanced leadership and change management skills * Advanced, demonstrated ability to lead highly complex, multi-departmental sourcing events * Advanced skillset in driving decisions and influencing stakeholders in multi-functional corporate areas * Demonstrated mature approach to problem solving and conflict resolution * In depth knowledge of sourcing and contract fundamentals. * Prior experience in all elements of sourcing and category management for indirect services, including professional services and business process outsourcing. * Effective communication and collaboration skills with a wide variety of stakeholders, including leadership and large groups. * Demonstrated competency in facilitating, leading and influencing decision-making. * Ability to accomplish results through others by establishing relationships, effective controls and monitoring processes. * Ability to develop and analyze business cases, spend analytics, and financial models. * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: * Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position. * Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. * No or very limited physical effort required. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. Compensation Range $96,000 - $139,500 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensure as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
