Your Role at Baxter Baxter offers a robust summer internship program based in the Chicagoland area that provides meaningful work assignments that immerse students in Baxter's culture. The internship program is designed to provide practical work experience with the ability to make a business impact, highlighting what an individual would do in a similar full-time role. You'll be paired with a mentor, receive support from your manager, and have access to the entire Baxter employee community to ensure your success. This summer internship is within the research and development (R&D) team within the Baxter Pharmaceuticals business segment. This team works to identify a robust pipeline of new drug, device, and combination products that meet patient unmet needs and bring value to our customers. Project scope can be very broad, but will support design or remediation of pharmaceutical solutions, delivery devices, and/or container closure systems to help grow and sustain our portfolio of injectable products. Interns will be assigned to specific tasks in support of new product development activities or on-market support of existing products. Responsibilities typically involve a combination of literature research, laboratory work, and data analysis. The intern will be responsible for their individual project but will work in collaboration with Baxter team members internal and external to the R&D function. The intern will work with the assigned mentor and manager throughout the summer, culminating in a written project summary and final presentation at the end of the internship.
