WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING The Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing the flow of maintenance parts, materials, and supplies to support plant operations. This role ensures accurate receiving, storage, inventory control, and distribution of maintenance-related materials to minimize downtime and support efficient production. The position works closely with maintenance and operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure timely availability of critical spare parts. Key Responsibilities Shipping & Receiving * Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and documentation compliance * Unload deliveries and ensure proper handling and storage of materials, including critical spare parts * Coordinate outbound shipments, including returns, repairs, and vendor-related logistics * Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments in ERP/CMMS systems Inventory Management * Maintain accurate inventory of maintenance spare parts, tools, and consumables * Perform routine cycle counts and annual physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies * Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of parts in stockrooms and warehouses * Monitor inventory levels and initiate reorder requests to prevent stockouts and excess inventory * Support inventory optimization strategies, including min/max levels and critical spares identification Maintenance Support * Issue parts and materials to maintenance technicians in a timely and accurate manner * Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure availability of parts for planned and unplanned work * Assist in kitting parts for preventive and predictive maintenance activities * Track usage trends and provide data to support reliability and cost improvement initiatives Systems & Documentation * Maintain accurate data in ERP and/or CMMS systems (e.g., SAP) * Ensure proper documentation of receipts, transfers, and inventory adjustments * Generate reports on inventory levels, usage, and discrepancies as needed Safety & Compliance * Follow all safety procedures, including proper material handling and storage practices * Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and ISO standards * Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready storage areas WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Education & Experience * High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred * 3-5 years of experience in shipping/receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment * Experience supporting maintenance or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory strongly preferred Skills & Competencies * Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and warehouse operations * Experience with ERP/CMMS systems (SAP or similar) * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment * Effective communication and teamwork skills Physical Requirements * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting * Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL * Demonstrated success implementing proactive initiatives and reducing risk * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail * Ability to build cross-functional partnerships and drive accountability * High energy, ownership mindset, and a visible presence on the plant floor * Inventory accuracy and cycle count compliance * Stockout frequency and impact on downtime * On-time receiving and material availability * Organization and audit readiness of storage areas WHAT WE OFFER * Opportunity to lead and shape HSE strategy in a growing, state-of-the-art facility * A strong safety-first culture backed by global standards and leadership support * Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package * Career growth and development opportunities within a global organization * Exposure to best practices and collaboration across Hydro's international network Work Environment * Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures * Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Additional Information: * This position may have indirect leadership responsibility and influence across all departments * Must be authorized to work in the United States * Duties and responsibilities may evolve based on business needs Hydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
