Job Description Summary

This position is a key leader within the corporate tax organization, responsible for leading significant aspects of the global income tax provision under ASC 740 and supporting complex transactions and integrations. The role requires substantial technical judgment, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership of process improvement initiatives. This role works closely with the Director, Tax Accounting.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead the quarterly and annual consolidated income tax accounting under ASC 740 including current and deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions and effective tax rate as well as SOX documentation and compliance

  • Review and oversight of detailed income tax provision workpapers

  • Responsible for the integration of acquired business units/groups into the consolidated income tax provision as well as gaining an understanding of the key tax adjustments and risks

  • Working with tax planning on the income tax accounting impacts of complex internal and external transactions

  • Responsible for the implementation of tax technology solutions to automate and reduce risk in the quarterly and annual provision processes

  • Research and analyze complex tax issues and transactions, forming judgment to assess the income tax and accounting impact and communicate findings to senior management

  • Timely monitoring of income tax legislation and regulatory changes and assessing the impact on the Company

  • Effectively communicate with senior management, corporate controllership, outside auditors, advisors and other key stakeholders on global tax reporting issues

  • Identify and effectively implement process improvements and efficiencies

  • Lead, train and develop staff and effectively partner with other corporate tax department teams and business units

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required (MST a plus)

  • CPA strongly preferred

  • 8+ years of tax accounting experience working with public company income tax provisions in an in-house or national accounting firm setting

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze and understand complex transactions

  • Sophisticated technical judgment and risk assessment required

  • Proactive problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Must be well organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Ability to interact with many people at a variety of levels within the organization

  • Strong verbal, writing and analytical skills

  • High integrity and commitment to controls and corporate governance

Physical Requirements:

  • Office environment

  • Travel not required
