Materials Manager: Salary Exempt, Grade 09

Position Summary:

Provide leadership of full logistics team activities for the Fluid Systems Division - Hauppauge, NY site. Logistics activities will include all aspects of shipping, receiving and the stock room. Provides direct leadership and management of all logistic functions. This position has direct reports and is an on-site role within our organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and manage all Logistics activities including receiving, stockroom material handling, stockroom process improvements, military shipping submittals, process improvements of commercial and military packaging requirements.
  • Responsible for Logistics resource-planning activities. These activities need to help achieve sales and ACIP objectives and maintain 100% on-time customer deliveries.
  • Matrix responsibilities for personnel involved with the MRP database to achieve and maintain a high degree of data accuracy, integrity, and ownership.
  • Help define and implement automated systems to plan and track material flow from receiving through stockroom and shipping to support a supply chain management strategy.
  • Ensure all the location/division's material management policies are consistent with the inventory control objectives of the Corporation.
  • Support internal or external audit requirements related to inventory control and shipping functions.
  • Effectively create and sustain inventory control cost reduction programs.
  • Provide professional development for all materials team members. Explain and support company policies and procedures.
  • Actively support and implement lean principles.
  • Facilitate kanban, materials requirement planning techniques.
  • Participates on both natural and cross-functional high-performance teams.
  • Participates in lean events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or materials management required with certification in materials management and quality preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years applicable inventory control and logistics management experience in a world-class, high volume manufacturing environment with leadership experience.
  • Experience in state-of-the-art materials management systems including supply chain management, JIT, MRPII, cellular manufacturing and with APICS/CPM certification preferred.
  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PC software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, databases and presentations)

  • Pay Range: $100300 to $159400 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
