Position Summary

Support quality system by performing product audit, process audits, gauge studies, problem solving techniques, product disposition and other analytical methods applicable to related requirements and specifications.

Perform all duties necessary to the efficient operation of all equipment in the plant. Operate and maintain plant equipment in accordance with standard work and building procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner

  • Work with groups in initiating and implementing programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S

  • Assist in ISO Internal Audits Procedures and Process Audit.

  • Audit processes and work areas for conformance to appropriate instructions, materials, and identification.

  • Operate electronic data collecting equipment along with a network-based computer system.

  • Verify accuracy of gages and measuring instruments, such as calipers, plug gages, dial indicators, and pressure gages using master gages and standards.

  • Conduct Gage R&R

  • Accurately read gages, prints, part identification, specifications, and procedures.

  • Assist with data and product/process information and analysis, along with PPAP data collection and documentation

  • Perform line inspections when necessary

  • Maintain departmental records.

  • Document nonconforming goods through internal quality system and communicate the non-conformances to the appropriate party.

  • Assist in PFMEAs, control plans and process improvements.

  • Perform standard test and/or preliminary evaluation programs for product compliance as well as root cause analysis on samples of routine products and defective product.

  • Perform product inspection and testing as required per appropriate specification or standard.

  • Conduct process capability studies

  • Obtain, evaluate, and document testing requirements on designated raw materials and finished goods.

  • Perform Receiving Audits in accordance with applicable procedures, standards and instructions

  • Generate inspection reports, make dispositions, and maintain database.

  • Perform containment procedures and maintain hold area.

  • Attend special training classes as necessary to maintain certifications and improve skill sets

  • Train others in Quality related skills and procedures.

  • Other duties may be assigned at a later time

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED

  • ASQC Certificate preferred

  • APQP Training recommended

  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Lift and transport baskets of parts weighing no more than 45 lbs.

  • Auditors must be able to bend over, lift, and move parts for the entire shift.

  • Auditors must be able to read gauges, prints, parts, specifications, and procedures.

  • Ability to pass administered hearing test.
