Job Summary:

This position is responsible for leading the treadmill exercise sessions for an exercise study of patients with lower extremity peripheral arterial disease. This position also includes telephone coaching and in-person coaching, for behavioral change interventions, primarily focused on home exercise.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and conducting exercise sessions with enrolled study subjects including starting and stopping the sessions, and monitoring of blood pressure, pulse, and symptoms during the sessions.
  • Contacting enrolled study subjects by telephone, to administer study questionnaires and assess outcomes.
  • Participating in all aspects of organizing, managing, and up keeping data including collecting, processing, and analyzing.
  • Implementing behavioral change interventions to assist with home-based exercise interventions. Both in-person and telephone contact with study subjects will be required.
  • Participating in laboratory meetings, including presentation of ongoing findings.
  • Communicating with research supervisors on an ongoing basis of work progress, and development of problems or concerns with laboratory data analysis.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances)

  • A bachelor's degree or master's degree in exercise physiology or physical education, with a focus on exercise and fitness, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.
  • Formal training as an exercise physiologist

Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)

  • Training and experience in cardiac rehabilitation, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $56,782 - $79,850 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
