Job Summary
Our client is a global Marketing Communications group responsible for overseeing high-impact advertising and marketing to ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications. The Business Affairs Manager supports the Business Affairs function for the ALAC (Latin America and Caribbean) region. This is a centralized role reporting directly to our client's Global Headquarters to maintain objective balance while supporting regional marketing teams. The selected candidate will drive the planning, localization, and execution of intellectual property rights-managed content, ensuring all campaigns are cleared and localized specifically for the Latin American market.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 4-5 years of relevant experience in advertising, legal, or business affairs within the entertainment, music, or media industries.
- Language (Mandatory): Must be fully bilingual and proficient (read, write, and speak) in English and Spanish OR English and Portuguese. Fluency in all three is an advantage.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Solid working knowledge of IP rights (copyright, trademark, licensing) within advertising or media law, with an emphasis on digital content and technology.
- Regional Expertise: Proven ability to identify legal and cultural nuances across various Latin American markets.
- Ownership: A self-starter who works with a high degree of independence, representing the Business Affairs team across internal cross-functional departments.
- Collaboration: Experience working within a global reporting structure and across different time zones is preferred.
Description
- Campaign Management: Manage rights and clear content for ongoing, campaign-driven functions throughout the year, supporting the team across the region rather than focusing on a single project.
- Localization: Coordinate and plan locale-specific content to replace global content that is unavailable or culturally unsuitable for the ALAC region.
- Rights Negotiation: Maintain excellent relationships with internal partners and external vendors to negotiate usage rights and ensure deliverables are fully cleared for use.
- Strategic Coordination: Act as a daily liaison between our client's regional headquarters in Miami and global project managers at the corporate headquarters.
- Asset Tracking: Partner with Content Production teams to ensure assets are accurately tracked in rights management systems and shared across creative disciplines.
Education & Preferences
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
- Preferred Qualifications: A JD from a Latin American University and/or a US-based LLM or MBA is highly valued and considered a strong asset.
- Hybrid Commitment: Ability to work from the Miami (Coral Gables) office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
- Peak Periods: Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday during specific project "peak" periods (approximately 2-3 times a year for short durations).
