The Inpatient Service Specialist (ISS) provides administrative and high level customer service support to patients, families and internal team members. The ISS facilitates the Patient-Family Experience in the inpatient units at the main campus. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients and families to various locations; collecting information from patients/families and entering it into a medical records system; answering and routing telephone inquiries; interacting with patients and families in order to determine and best meet their needs; and copying, scanning and/or filing various documents. The Level 8 Inpatient Medical Unit is a dynamic 73-bed general medical unit serving a wide variety of patient populations from birth to early adulthood. We specialize clinically in the areas of digestive health, renal disorders, infectious diseases, behavioral health, endocrine, metabolic disorders, and immune deficiencies. These patient populations challenge us to exercise critical thinking, clinical decision making, and clinical judgement. This unit recently expanded and is supporting more of an infant population. Shift: hours are based on unit need. Need to have night and day shift availability. Weekends: rotating weekends. More to be discussed at time of interview. Holidays: one summer and one winter holiday required. Schedule: Flex, based on unit need. 1- 12hr shift required per week.
