At Idaho National Laboratory, you'll activate and fulfill orders using blanket ordering agreements, purchase cards, and computer material ordering systems, collaborate with vendors, buyers, planners, and customers to facilitate timely delivery of materials and services, and interpret technical specifications to integrate requirements into procurement documents. You'll provide status updates on material orders, support nuclear-grade procurements, assist with warehouse and kitting activities, and deliver strong customer service to vendors and procurement specialists alike.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Activate and fulfill orders using effective methods, Blanket Ordering Agreements (including Business-to-Business agreements), Purchase-Card, or computer material ordering system. May procure nuclear grade procurements/services supporting safety functions.
  • Provide status for material orders and services to assist in accurate scheduling and delivery of internal and external work.
  • Collaborate with vendors, buyers, planners, technician/crafts, and customers using effective communication methods to facilitate the timely order delivery of materials and services. Input vendor and purchase order data into a computer system. Prepare Bills of Materials.
  • Interpret the technical content of specifications, review and may develop statements of work (SOW), research vendor data, apply quality control requirements, identify potential sources of materials, and integrate all requirements into specification-based requisitioning documents.
  • Provide excellent customer service to vendors and the procurement specialists to help ensure vendors are being added to the systems timely to facilitate mission-enabling acquisitions.
  • May contact vendors for pricing information, expedite the delivery of purchased items, or place orders for standard, off-the-shelf merchandise according to pre-negotiated contract prices.
  • May complete tasks related to warehouse/kitting and staging.

Required:

  • Level 3: High School diploma, or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.
  • Level 4: High School diploma, or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience.
  • Experience to include technical material procurement.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred:

  • Experience with INL Material Acquisition process.
  • Degree preferred.

Physical Requirements:

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, operate a computer keyboard or type, handle materials, or reach with hands and arms performing the essential functions of the classification. The duties require sitting for long periods, accessing stored file boxes and file cabinets, and moving and organizing physical file materials. The employee must occasionally lift 25pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, conduct research and inspect materials. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions, communicate effectively in person, by telephone or electronic mail. While performing the duties of this classification, the employee works in an office setting where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Working Conditions:

The job works in a general office environment with a moderate noise level. May be exposed to discomforts associated with constant monitoring of computer video display screens. Intermittent exposure to stress as a result of human behavior and various responsibilities.

Job Information:

Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility with every other Friday off.

  • The pay range for this position is: Level 3 ($22.93 - $37.82) / Level 4 ($26.36 - $43.48). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
