The Contracts Analyst is responsible for supporting the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, analyzing, negotiating, and managing contracts to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and business objectives. This role partners closely with Structuring and Origination, Front Office Trading, Legal, Procurement, Finance, Risk Management, and business stakeholders to mitigate contractual risks and support operational efficiency. This position is open totwo P-levels:Senior Financial Risk Analyst (Grade 7 / P3 - Career Professional)andPrincipal Financial Risk Analyst (Grade 8 / P4 - Specialist Professional). The level at which an offer is made will bedeterminedbased on the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
Job Overview The addition of a Contracts Analyst is critical to support increasing contractual complexity, regulatory requirements, and operational demands across energy trading, settlements, and contracts functions. This role will reduce financial risk, improve contract lifecycle efficiency, and strengthen compliance-particularly in preparation for evolving market structures such as EDAM. Drafted, analyzed, and redlined NDAs, MSAs, and SOWs while ensuring alignment with legal standards and commercial objectives. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze contracts for risk and compliance. Identify unfavorable or non-standard terms. Understand clause interaction and downstream impacts. Summarize contract terms and provide recommendations to stakeholders. This role supports power wholesale market management by identifying and analyzing potential contractual risks, strong knowledge and familiarity with master agreements, ensuring contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Support regulatory, audit, and risk management reviews and monitor changes in contract related policies or standards. Protects the organization's financial, legal, operational, and reputation interests. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities for this role are determined by P-level and are outlined separately below. Minimum Competencies Functional Competencies Proficiency by level:
Advanced knowledge of risk management concepts including disputes and litigation, non-compliant data privacy clauses, missing governing law or jurisdiction, poorly defined service levels (SLAs), and invalid limitation of liability.
