*** Full- Time Monday- Friday 8:30 A.M.- 4:30 P.M., Pay Range: $80,000-$86,000 Depending on Experience***

Position Summary: This position is responsible for various accounting and financial functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, governmental regulations and Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Divisional Finance Director in preparation of internal and external audit schedules.
  • Assist the Divisional Finance Director in the preparation of the annual financial statement consolidation process for the division.
  • Monitor all bank accounts for daily activity.
  • Monitor THQ trust ledger activity. Circulate trust reports to DHQ and corps. Request reserve/trust funds and release them to units.
  • Maintains vehicle fleet inventory for insurance and assessment purposes.
  • Coordinate the internal audit of the division. Prepare and provide internal audit requests.
  • Serve as custodian for the City Fund petty cash at DHQ. Replenishes City Fund petty cash accounts for DHQ, Omaha Social Services.
  • Lend support to the development of the DHQ and Omaha Area annual budgets and entry into the accounting system software.
  • Serve as bank initiator of electronic bank transfers.
  • Monitor mortgage activity and ensure payments to THQ with billing the SA units.
  • Complete monthly State Sales & Use Tax for 7 locations.
  • Calculate support service for invoicing SA units.
  • Assist with receipting and accounts payable in the event of absences.
  • Assist with the process of approving check runs and journal entries as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Divisional Finance Director and the Divisional Secretary for Business.
  • Must be able to travel overnight for audits, conferences and meetings as needed and assigned.
  • Driving is an essential function of the position.
  • All other duties as assigned.



Supervisory Responsibilities: Compliance Accountant and Corps Accounting Staff.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and one to two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Position requires a confident and self-motivated individual with integrity who must maintain a high level of trust and is able to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be well organized, detail oriented, accurate and able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary.
  • Working knowledge of the process and goals of consolidation of multiple units' financial statements
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite and must be highly proficient in the creation of complex spreadsheets for modeling and reporting
  • Utilization of Acumatica software.sh


Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Working Conditions: The work environment is an office environment, with low to moderate noise, and may include varying temperatures that may be encountered in the facility.
