Position Description

R.S. Hughes is seeking a Senior National Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruiting efforts across the organization, supporting Sales, Customer Success, Supply Chain and Corporate functions (HR, Finance, Marketing, IT). This role will also help strengthen our external employment brand.

This position is critical to building a strong, scalable talent pipeline that supports our growth across North America. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of hiring high-performing sales talent within industrial distribution, while also demonstrating the ability to recruit across multiple functions and partner effectively with leaders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Recruiting



  • Lead recruiting efforts across Sales, Customer Success, Supply Chain and Corporate Functions (HR, Finance, Marketing, IT).
  • Manage a mix of requisitions, including field sales roles, customer-facing positions, warehouse & logistics, and corporate support functions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, candidate profiles, and hiring plans.


Sales Recruiting Focus



  • Drive hiring of high-performing sales professionals, including Account Managers and Territory Sales Representatives.
  • Build strong pipelines of talent within the industrial distribution space and adjacent industries.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors and proactively engage top performers in the market.


Talent Pipeline Development



  • Develop and maintain pipelines for recurring and critical roles across the business.
  • Use a mix of sourcing tools, networking, and referrals to identify both active and passive candidates.
  • Build long-term relationships with talent in key markets.
  • Work closely with managers and HR business partners to drive internal movement opportunities for talent based on business need and career aspirations.
  • Coordinate campus outreach, recruiting, and selection of program participants for our leadership development program (early-career rotational program).
  • Partner with business leaders to structure rotations and development opportunities.
  • Track participant progress, retention, and long-term success within the company.


Employer Branding



  • Help define and execute R.S. Hughes' external employment brand.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure consistent messaging across job postings, career site, and social channels.
  • Improve visibility of R.S. Hughes as an employer of choice within industrial distribution.
  • Support development of content that reflects our culture, values, and career opportunities.


Stakeholder Partnership



  • Serve as a trusted partner to hiring managers and leadership.
  • Provide insight into candidate markets, compensation expectations, and hiring challenges.
  • Help guide hiring decisions to ensure strong long-term fit.


Metrics & Continuous Improvement



  • Track key recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, quality of hire, and pipeline health.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support ongoing improvement of recruiting processes and tools.


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's in Business Administration or related
  • 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience
  • Proven success hiring within industrial distribution, with a strong focus on sales roles
  • Experience recruiting across:


    • Sales
    • Customer Success
    • Supply Chain (including Purchasing, Warehouse & Logistics)
    • Corporate functions (HR, Finance, Marketing, IT)


  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain talent pipelines
  • Experience contributing to employer branding efforts
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using ATS and sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, UKG Pro Recruiting, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in MRO or specialty distribution
  • Experience supporting a geographically distributed sales organization
  • Experience partnering closely with Marketing on brand or content initiatives

Target Base Compensation range for this exempt role is 80,000 - $120,000 (depending on experience)

This is a Full-Time position, eligible to participate in the Company's benefit plans including: Paid Time off; major medical, dental, vision; Company paid short-term and long-term disability; paid parental leave; various supplemental benefit plans; and 12% annual company funded Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP).
