This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at 9434 Medical Center Drive and remote.

DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, the Hospital Assistant provides administrative support for the cardiology outpatient clinics, procedural areas, and specialty programs inclusive of: phone support, clinic appointment scheduling, non-invasive procedure testing, clinical coordination, and procedural scheduling services.

Responsibilities include scheduling cardiovascular procedures and/or clinic visits, managing clinic scheduling, coordinating care, and ensuring programmatic needs of cardiology subspecialty programs are met. The role works closely with cardiovascular physicians and clinical staff to support efficient procedural and clinic operations, and to ensure prior authorizations are obtained in a timely manner to prevent delays in patient treatment and services.

Procedural scheduling includes Cardiovascular Catheterization, Electrophysiology, and Non-Invasive Labs. Clinic scheduling is inclusive of all cardiology specialties and subspecialties. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience as a surgery scheduler in a clinical environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of third party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.

  • Strong problem solving ability by using good judgment and applying these skills to assist customers and ensure customers' expectations are met.

  • Proven computer skills and be able to work between multiple systems during calls.

  • Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over phone.

  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications i.e., Outlook, Word and Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • EPIC experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $57,399 - $71,347 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $27.49 - $34.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
