Job Summary

This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations. This role builds and maintains meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, and community partners to generate financial resources that support student success, academic programs, scholarships, and institutional initiatives. The fundraiser identifies prospective donors, cultivates and solicits gifts, and stewards contributions to ensure long-term engagement and impact. Working collaboratively the Maricopa Community College Foundation, campus leadership, faculty, and external stakeholders, this position plays a key role in advancing the college's mission and strengthening its presence in the community.

Essential Functions

40% Implements development programs and strategy by conducting research and identifying prospective donors; performing donor outreach and cultivating relationships and loyalty; and coordinating, training and organizing volunteers providing fundraising support activities

20% Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in designing and implementing development programs to gain and enhance charitable contributions, and to meet changing organizational demands

10% Maintains donor contact and implements stewardship programs; provides gift acknowledgement and recognition; prepares and delivers reports related to financial funding and distribution

10% Contributes to the development of information and communication materials used for prospect/donor cultivation and solicitation

10% Updates and maintains database information related to existing and prospective donors

10% Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in marketing, communications or related field and four years of experience performing the full range of fundraising/development activities such as providing program coordination and development support in assigned development area.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  1. 4 years or more experience in building a diverse philanthropic strategy and implementing the plan through collaborating with cross college teams
  2. 2 years or more experience in the higher education or non-profit fundraising/resource development space
  3. 4 years of experience creating and implementing marketing and outreach plans related to giving and donor retention
  4. 2 years of experience engaging with industry partners in relationship building that is positioned for long term investment

  5. One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years.

    **** Experience within other community college systems or higher education institutions is valued and may be considered in addition to MCCCD experience. External candidates are encouraged to apply.



Special Working Conditions

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment with moderate exposure to travel.
