Overview The associate is responsible for providing general support, while working under the guidance and mentorship of a Section Manager, on Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements related to project planning and implementation. This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan. Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Develop proactive, customer-centric culture, foster trust and confidence among our internal customers in EHS, operations and engineering.
- Provide general support to EH&S staff and engineering organizations during engineering planning, design, and construction activities for individual projects and routine/recurring work.
- Provide support to EH&S staff and other organizations concerning EH&S project and programs rate case planning, accounting and appropriation, budgeting, scheduling, and milestone tracking.
- Provide executive-level status reporting across portfolio.
- Respond to operating department requests for assistance and support on EH&S issues.
- Conduct periodic compliance inspections in support of the International Standard Organization 14001 Program.
- Support Green House Gases source data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required while continuing to work under the guidance of a section manager.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minimum of one year experience including cumulative work or equivalent internship/co-op experience OR six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience.
Relevant Work Experience
- Must be highly motivated and committed to delivering excellence in the area of EH&S and recognize the critical importance of teamwork, required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, required.
- Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), required.
- Ability to handle multiple work assignments, changing priorities, and meeting deadlines, required.
- Knowledge and experience in technical whitepaper drafting, capital and O&M work classification, appropriations and authorizations, budgets, schedules, and milestones, required.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License Required

Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
