$87,318.40 - $191,505.60 Preference will be given to candidates based in Indiana or nearby States Position Summary:

The Regional Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for supporting AON's formulary implementation initiatives, including but not limited to: Drug utilization reporting and analysis, therapeutic drug interchange programs, and Biosimilar integration. This clinical pharmacist will support medical providers by creating, updating, and communicating education material and provide support related to formulary preferences, performing therapeutics interchanges in the EMR with the approval of the prescriber, or within company interchange protocols.

Additionally, the clinical pharmacist will serve as a liaison between central services and the regional clinics which they support with matters, including but not limited to: Drug Therapeutics and Education, Monitoring of Adverse Events and other clinical outcomes. The clinical pharmacist will support provide groups by addressing all clinical pharmacy inquiries and assessing opportunities to improve support and care delivery.

Key Performance Areas:

KPA 1 - Leadership:

  • Support pharmacy operations and revenue cycle leadership in the development and maintenance of best practice for Formulary Management, including but not limited to: Execution, Outcomes, and Adherence.

  • Oversee utilization of specialty and oncology injectable medications and develop strategic programs and initiatives that support the goals of the organization.

KPA 2 - Clinical Review:

  • Perform Daily Reporting Review of Drugs requiring change, communicate with prescriber unless prior authorization has been granted by the prescriber per company protocol.

  • Monitor and review all AON patients receiving AON non-preferred therapeutic agents and review insurance/payor coverage information for potential therapeutic interchange to AON preferred therapies.

  • Assist EMR team with regimen builds and coordinate go-live of therapeutic interchanges or additions.

KPA 3 - Formulary Management / Integration:

  • Develop and maintain an AON formulary adherence dashboard at the clinic and region level.

  • Analyze formulary adherence data and cross-reference with value-based care (VBC) programs to identify opportunities to optimize value and health outcomes.

  • Develop periodic drug utilization evaluations on targeted, high cost/high risk drugs.

  • Participate in data analysis and planning of clinical initiatives and safety programs to improve quality and sustainability of care.

  • Participate in clinical review of patient orders during clinic transitions to AON.

KPA 4 - Communication & Education:

  • Notify prescribers and/or change treatment plans on behalf of prescribers in accordance with AON preferred formulary.

  • Develop communication strategies and content to best ensure clinicians are updated on formulary preference changes and utilization.

  • Develop and Provide drug-related and clinical education to staff/prescribers.

  • Respond to clinical pharmacist consultations from clinics using evidence-based guidelines and references (such as drug information, therapy recommendation, beyond use dating, etc).

KPA 5 - Technology & Informatics:

  • Collaborate with MiBA (Meaningful Insights BioTech Analytics) for insight initiatives including research, formulary decision/adherence, and others.

  • Assist EMR team in the development and validation of new EMR treatment plans and EMR optimization for pharmacy workflows/initiatives including but not limited to Flatiron Assist, VBC, formulary adherence, and VieCure optimization.

Position Qualifications/Requirements:

Education:

  • PharmD degree or Bachelors' Degree in Pharmacy, required.

Previous Experience:

At least 1-2 years of:

  • Prior experience in Managed Care and Formulary Management, preferred.

  • Oncology pharmacy experience, preferred.

  • Experience working with EMR order sets/ flowsheets and drug substitution/interchanges, preferred.

  • Computer Skills:

- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required. - Experience with CPR+ (Complete Patient Records), preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), preferred.

  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP), preferred.

  • Valid state Driver's License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.

Remote: Yes

  • As a reminder those who drive must provide copies of the declarations page of their personal insurance policy for each vehicle that they can use to the Human Resources Department for verification purposes annually. Required Limits: Split Limits of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000.

Standard Work Days/Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, evenings and weekends as required.
