ABOUT THE JOB The Business Development Manager is responsible for the strategic business development and sales revenue across the new, surplus, rental, and service divisions. This role will generate and execute the organization's strategic sales and revenue goals for the southwest region of the United States. The position is primarily remote, with some expected monthly time in the office in Loves Park, IL, and the majority of time spent in the field working with customers and engineers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for promoting and managing all sales activities for WaterSurplus solutions and equipment in the geographic market of:
- AZ, NM, TX, OK, AK, LA
- Additional opportunities would be approved on a case-by-case basis in the Southeast region of the United States.
- A key market will be data centers, municipal, beverage, oil & gas, mining and general industry.
- Organizes and participates in all business development activities (sales calls, lunch-n-learns, conferences, trade shows, etc.).
- Consults and negotiates with clients to prepare project specifications, generate proposals, lead time and pricing along with customer communications.
- Directs, coordinates, and participates with application engineering in the development and generation of sales proposals, budgets, cost estimates, bids, and contracts for new and existing customers.
- Develops and maintains good business relationships with customers on different levels and strategic suppliers/partners to the company.
- Informs the company of all activities, opportunities, issues and project deadlines, maintains and updates sales database (WinMan, etc.) and prepares sales forecasts.
- Analyzes and actively communicates information about the market (competition, qualitative and quantitative market analysis).
- Confers with operation and production staff to discuss project specifications, organizes and attends kick off meetings, and maintains customer contact and assists in the communication though-out the project.
- Contributes to development of sales tools and overall sales strategy.
- Participates in the commercialization of the new technology of the company.
ABOUT YOU
- High School diploma required (B.S. in Electrical Engineering is preferred).
- Minimum of two years' training in automation systems, mechatronics, or electrical technology is preferred.
- Experience in process industry with a preference for water/wastewater industry is desired.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of all company products and services.
- Experience working in a team environment where teamwork and collaboration are essential to complete the work assignments and attain the goals of the organization.
- Interpersonal skills and abilities to develop and maintain strong internal and external customer and potential customer relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the overall business strategy and make recommendations within the scope of position responsibility.
- Engineering and Technology:
- Practical applications of engineering science and technology, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for designing and producing goods and services.
- Requires strong knowledge of mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics), physical principles, laws, and applications in fluid, material, atmospheric, mechanical, and electrical processes.
- Tools and Equipment: Ability to use power tools, wrenches, cutters, saws, cement, volt meters, pH/conductivity meters, hand tools, computers, current sources, and power supplies.
- Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and processes for creating precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Computers and Electronics: Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software, including applications and programming.
- Administration and Management: Understanding of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of customer service principles, including needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction evaluation.
- Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and techniques for efficient manufacturing and distribution.
- Software and Systems Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, controls programming software, troubleshooting, and use of personal computers.
