General Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a motivated Design Electrician Intern to join our in-office drawing and design team. This role is ideal for an aspiring electrician or electrical student who wants to blend field knowledge with design experience. As an intern, you will support the conversion of contract documents into accurate installation drawings that improve clarity and constructability for field crews. Working alongside experienced electricians, designers, and project managers, you'll gain hands-on exposure to real-world electrical design while contributing to efficient and error-free project execution. Key Responsibilities Assist in reviewing and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications. Use Bluebeam and other tools to mark up, revise, and help finalize installation drawings. Apply foundational electrical knowledge to support clear, accurate, and buildable designs. Help identify potential installation challenges and contribute to practical solutions. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and field supervisors to maintain up-to-date drawings. Support documentation and organization of design files and revisions. Learn and apply company standards, codes, and best practices in electrical design. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 0-2 Specific Qualifications Qualifications Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Electrical Technology, Construction Management, or a related field. Basic understanding of electrical systems and construction drawings. Interest in both fieldwork and design coordination. Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar software is a plus. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Good communication and teamwork skills. Work Environment Office-based, working at a desk and computer for extended periods. Collaborative team environment with frequent interaction between design staff and field personnel. Occasional visits to job sites may be required for learning and field coordination. Fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working on a computer. Visual acuity to review detailed drawings and documents. Ability to occasionally stand, walk, and navigate active construction sites (when applicable). Capability to lift up to 15-25 pounds (e.g., plans, equipment, or materials). Must be able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) during site visits.
