Description and Requirements

Location: Morrisville, NC (Hybrid)

Duration: Summer 2026 (8-10 weeks, with flexibility based on program guidelines)

Start Date: Target June 1, 2026

About the Role

The Strategic Hardware Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Summer 2026 Intern to support handson engineering analysis and datadriven investigations across hardware systems. This internship offers exposure to realworld product development challenges, labbased testing, and field data analysis within a crossfunctional engineering environment.

The ideal candidate is a university student with strong analytical skills and an interest in hardware, power systems, materials, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

As an intern, you will contribute to active engineering projects and may be responsible for:

  • Supporting materials and chemical analysis, including review of test results and failure analysis data
  • Assisting with powerrelated testing, including test execution, data collection, and results review
  • Analyzing field usage and performance data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities
  • Documenting findings and preparing clear summaries or presentations for engineering stakeholders
  • Collaborating with engineers across electrical, mechanical, and systems disciplines
  • Supporting system management activities, such as logging new systems into tracking tools, preparing systems for return, labeling hardware, and maintaining accurate system records

Responsibilities may evolve based on project needs, academic background, and interests.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a university undergraduate or graduate program in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, MATLAB, or similar)

Preferred / Bonus:

  • Major or coursework in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • Exposure to hardware systems, electronics, materials science, or test engineering
  • Experience analyzing large datasets or working with lab or test equipment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
