About Our Team

Lenovo is building Qira, a next-generation hybrid AI platform that spans Windows, Android, and cloud. We are hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to help drive the architecture, design, and platform integration of AI experiences on Windows and Android devices.

This role is critical to delivering scalable, performant, and secure AI systems that power next-generation user experiences across laptops, tablets, and cross-device ecosystems. Your work will directly impact millions of users worldwide.

Location: On-site in Chicago, IL. Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)


What You'll Do

  • Manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the roadmap for a strong UI/UX foundation for apps on Windows and Android, ensuring smooth and rapid feature development and rollout.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, code quality metrics, and performance baselines to ensure experiences feel responsive and native across all device specifications.
  • Partner with globally distributed technical leaders, product managers, and designers to translate complex AI interactions into reusable, well-architected technical components.
  • Balance the need for cross-platform maintainability with native-level performance, managing the effort and headcount to meet delivery targets.
  • Act as a career coach and force multiplier for your team, identifying growth opportunities and heading off technical or organizational bottlenecks before they impact delivery.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a people management role leading high-impact engineering teams.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience managing delivery of complex Android, and/or Windows application.
  • Experience in application lifecycles, UI rendering pipelines, and memory management for Android or Windows.
  • Experience taking large-scale initiatives from concept to global deployment in consumer or enterprise environments.
  • Exceptional ability to align stakeholders across different time zones and disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cross-platform applications and frameworks like React Native, Flutter, or Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Experience managing teams that build interfaces for generative or agentic AI.
  • A track record of leading engineers in a global, hybrid work environment, with a focus on building inclusive and high-velocity team culture.
The base salary budgeted range for this position is $190K - $210K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
