Job Description




As a Security Officer - Full-Time Patrol in Olympia, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a tech and telecom location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents, and support access control and badge processes. You will use a computer or tablet to document activity, communicate clearly with teams and visitors, and deliver a customer-first experience. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site employees, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology and telecommunications location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and service requests in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating clearly with site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, watching for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unwanted behavior.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying authorization, directing visitors to sign-in procedures, and monitoring delivery and contractor activity per site requirements.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in daily reports and incident reports, and notify supervision of issues requiring follow-up.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
