Job Description




As a Security Officer - Night Patrol Driver in Sugar Land, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help maintain a professional presence through routine vehicle and foot patrols, access checks, and timely reporting of security-related concerns. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. You will deliver customer service, communicate clearly with site teams, and support Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, people-first culture built on teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to facility personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of process areas, tank farms, loading and unloading zones, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to identify unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and other security-related concerns.
  • Control access at gates and/or checkpoints by verifying credentials, directing deliveries, maintaining visitor logs, and communicating entry requirements per site procedures.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and other security-related systems, and document observations, patrol activity, and incidents in detailed reports.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, provide initial notification to site contacts and/or emergency services as directed, and assist with scene control until relieved.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
