Overview

Job Title: Payroll Analyst
Department: Accounting
Reports to: Payroll Systems Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary range: $62K-$66K

The Payroll Analyst ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of payroll and benefits data across the
organization. This role is responsible for conducting payroll and benefits audits, validating employee records,
managing system updates, reconciling benefit plans, and supporting biweekly payroll processing. The Payroll Analyst
proactively identifies and resolves discrepancies, maintains compliance with federal and state regulations, and
supports reporting, documentation, and process improvement initiatives.

This position also serves as a backup for key payroll and benefits functions and collaborates closely with internal
departments and external vendors to ensure operational excellence.



Responsibilities

    Manages and responds to Self-Service and HR Assist tickets in UKG Pro, related to payroll, benefits, and data
    integrity.
  • Conducts biweekly payroll audits using pre-payroll comparison reports to identify and resolve discrepancies prior
    to payroll processing.
  • Provides backup support for payroll processing, including reviewing and entering payroll changes and assisting
    the Payroll Manager during processing cycles.
  • Assists with biweekly and monthly reconciliations of benefits and leave programs, including medical, dental,
    vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, pledges, and 403(b) retirement plans.
  • Reviews weekly ACA reports in UKG Pro to ensure compliance with Affordable Care Act requirements.
  • Investigates and resolves payroll, benefits, leave, and vendor discrepancies, partnering with internal
    stakeholders and external providers (e.g., New York Life) as needed.
  • Manages and audits employee data in UKG Pro, including new hire records, timeclock IDs, work locations,
    supervisor assignments, flexible work documentation, and termination coding.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to transfer and validate new hire data from ICIMS into UKG Pro, ensuring
    accuracy of employee demographic and employment information.
  • Conducts audits of accruals, holiday pay, and attendance records to ensure compliance with company policy and
    accurate payroll calculations.
  • Assists in the annual 403(b) audit and supports the annual budget preparation process.
  • Performs research and analysis of payroll and benefits-related transactions, generating reports and supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Supports system maintenance and improvement initiatives, including reporting enhancements, data cleanup projects, and process automation efforts.
  • Assists in documenting and maintaining standardized payroll and benefits procedures, including development of training materials.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, federal and state laws, regulatory requirements, and cooperates with audits, inspections, and investigations as required.
  • Maintains effective communication, demonstrates organizational core values, promotes a safe and respectful work environment, and performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree required
  • 2-4 years of experience in Payroll, HRIS, Benefit or HR operations experience.
  • Experience with UKG Pro or similar HRIS software strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with data auditing, especially employment data or payroll and benefit data, is a plus.
