Job Description

The Infrastructure Solutions Engineer Lead Consultant manages, administers, and implements engineering best practices for Allstate's Data Protection infrastructure. This role encompasses contributing to detailed Data Protection infrastructure design as well as implementation, testing and coordination of operational maintenance associated with Allstate's enterprise Data Protection environment. The Infrastructure Solutions Engineer Lead Consultant will be responsible for lifecycle management, as well as the development and deployment of new capabilities within the on-premises and cloud-based Data Protection infrastructures. Additionally, the Infrastructure Solutions Engineer Lead Consultant will act as the SME (subject matter expert) for all internal client needs as well as Data Protection related infrastructure projects. The Infrastructure Solutions Engineer Lead Consultant will also be accountable for the certification, security, and implementation of new hardware, software, and capabilities for Data Protection related technologies.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Data Protection Technology management and administration

  • Automation of data protection administration and management tasks as needed.

  • Protect enterprise data protection assets against security vulnerabilities and attacks

  • Engagement with internal business functions, other IT support organizations, and multiple diverse application support teams, to collaborate on data protection needs

  • Contribute to a team of 7-9 Data Protection engineers

Accountabilities:

  • Build long-term relationships within team and amongst peers by creating an environment of safety, innovation, integrity, and honest open communication.

  • Initiate and implement continuous improvements in the Data Protection infrastructure environment, including automation of complex tasks and delivery of Data Protection capabilities.

  • Partner with others in the organization to set and manage expectations associated with Allstate's Data Protection Infrastructure, continually seek opportunities to be a thought partner and deepen relationships.

  • Design/create/automate Data Protection solutions to meet business unit requirements.

  • Contribute to the lifecycle management of Data Protection platforms.

  • Introduce and deploy new data protection capabilities through the introduction and deployment of new technologies.

  • Develop and deploy data protection automation to improve service delivery.

  • Represent the Data Protection team in collaborative efforts and projects with internal clients and other infrastructure teams.

  • Maintain a relationship with Data Protection vendors and stay abreast of their latest technology offerings and recommend new capabilities that provide value to Allstate.

  • Establish, implement, and perform data protection related management functions that ensure the resiliency, maintainability, and security of the data protection infrastructure.

  • Adhere to policies and practices associated with change management, incident management, problem management, and release management in the Data Protection infrastructure.

  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding solution alternatives, execution or delivery.

  • Effectively manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.

  • Produce policy, best practice, and procedural documentation for Data Protection related software and hardware operations.

  • Perform testing of new software and firmware patches to the data protection environment and produce documentation for rolling out the software.

  • Monitor Data Protection usage and assist with capacity management for all datacenters.

  • Provide escalation support for Data Protection infrastructure

  • Take actions as needed to improve the performance, availability, and resiliency of the Data Protection platforms.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a geographically dispersed team environment

  • Experience with Data Protection administration and management

  • Experience with ServiceNow and Digital AI Agility

  • Experience and exposure to Rubrik technologies

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is 100,000.00 - 170,500.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
