Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As part of our global Legal team for the summer, you will work on meaningful projects that advance Gates environmental performance, data transparency, and regulatory compliance. Depending on specific projects, you may interact with Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, and site-level teams to support programs across our global operations. The focus will be on projects that can be completed with clear deliverables and have opportunities to share findings and analysis with the team. The successful candidate will also have the chance to write an article publishedto the Gates intranet site.


This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and environmental affairs within a global industrial company.


Projects may include:


Sustainability Data Collection & Analysis



  • Collect, validate and organize site-level data on refrigerants
  • Assist in documenting projects in Gates project tracking systems and ensure entries are complete and accurate
  • Use data-driven analysis to identify environmental risks and opportunities and make recommendations to the team


Chemical & Materials Compliance Support



  • Coordinate the collection of PFAS-related data to support Gates reporting requirements
  • Review chemical and material information for accuracy and completeness
  • Support documentation and database updates related to chemical reporting


Reporting & Disclosure Preparation



  • Conduct research and prepare summaries of key requirements from the GHG Protocol and other emerging EU standards


  • Assist in compiling information for customer and supplier requirements


Benchmarking



  • Identify models for internal awards programs supporting adoption of sustainability within the Gates G-T-E-S framework
  • Develop a process to highlight projects from the Gates Green Library and create an outreach plan to drive visibility for global sites

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Pursuing degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Law, Engineering, Public Policy, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • A basic understanding of environmental or sustainability reporting frameworks and regulatory disclosures is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with research or project management experience
  • Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, or similar database and data visualization software
  • Curious and quick to learn
  • Clear and accurate written and oral communication skills
  • Energetic self-starter and team player
  • Work at the Denver office in-person without relocation assistance
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

PAY



  • Hourly Rate between $20.00-$25.00
  • Not eligible for employee benefits
  • 30-40 hours a week
