Position Overview

The Aeronautical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design and development of structural components and systems for production aircraft. This role focuses on creating and managing engineering data structures, supporting Bill of Materials (BOM) tools, and developing or revising aircraft design documentation using CATIA design software. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate design, structural integrity, and proper integration of aircraft systems.

Job Responsibilities




  • Design and develop engineering data structures to support production-representative aircraft programs



  • Create layouts, develop new drawings, and revise existing drawings using CATIA V5 and potentially 3DX/CATIA V6



  • Support structural design activities including aircraft structures, equipment installations, harness installations, and fluid system installations



  • Assist in validating Bill of Materials (BOM) tools to ensure accurate data management and engineering documentation



  • Coordinate with stress engineering teams to establish structural specifications and ensure design integrity



  • Support engineering analysis, design verification, and testing activities when required



  • Apply principles of aerodynamics and engineering to ensure efficient aircraft performance and design compliance



  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support aircraft production and design improvements




Job Requirements




  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience using CATIA V5



  • Proven experience in aircraft structural design



  • Ability to create and revise engineering drawings and design layouts



  • Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) systems and engineering data management tools



  • Strong understanding of aircraft structural components and integration



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills



  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based engineering environment




Preferred Qualifications




  • Experience supporting aircraft programs such as F-35, C-130, or similar legacy aircraft platforms



  • Experience with CATIA 3DX or CATIA V6



  • Familiarity with aircraft fluid systems, harness installations, and equipment integration
