Job Description




As a Security Guard - Flex Roving Driver in Torrance, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. You will conduct routine patrols across the property, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, assist with access control and visitor interactions, and document observations for the site team. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site contacts and/or public emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, tank farm and/or dock areas, administrative buildings, and the facility perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Control access at gates and/or designated entry points by verifying identification, processing visitor check-in and/or vehicle entry, and directing drivers and contractors to approved routes and staging areas per site procedures.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and gate activity records, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
