Senior Security Assurance Engineer - CTJ - TS

Our group is responsible for providing organizations with the best security solution for their cloud environment, allowing for visibility, governance, and protection over their infrastructure, platforms, and application solutions.

We are looking for a Senior Security Assurance Engineer to join a fast-paced team solving complex security and systems focused problems in the sovereign cloud security space. To accomplish this, you will work closely with distributed engineering, product management, and customer experience teams across Microsoft, as well as the customers themselves - leveraging the best of what Microsoft has to offer.

The Senior Security Assurance Engineer will play a key role in driving efforts to improve security of the sovereign cloud environment. This includes working with teams throughout the organization to identify and address security vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and educating users on security best practices. The SAE will leverage their broad Security experience to design and implement solutions to security challenges in the Azure environment.

• Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field AND 3+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field AND 4+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
• Clearance Verification:This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• Citizenship & Citizenship Verification:This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States that does not now or in the future require employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in identifying security vulnerabilities, software development, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection
  • OR Master's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years of experience with Secure Software Development practices.
• 3+ years of experience with implementing security controls and processes for hyper-scale computing platforms.
• Experience with relational database query and analysis (SQL, KQL, etc.).
• Experience building, expanding, or utilizing AI security capabilities.
• Proficiency in at least one modern compiled language (e.g., C#, Java, C++).
• CISSP, CASP+, or similar certifications.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.

Security Assurance IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
