The Dudley, MA facility is home to Operations, Global Lens Engineering, and Research and Development teams that work together to develop, pilot and manufacture, semi-finished, polycarbonate lenses for premium markets. We also supply coatings, inks, inserts and other innovative products to customers throughout the world.

GENERAL FUNCTION

Develop plant scheduling strategy to maximize capacities and priorities to support customer needs for assigned products. Serve as a liaison between production and the supply chain to ensure production goals are met in terms of scheduling and shipping. Serve as a liaison between all the manufacturing groups; GLI, New Products Management, Central Quality, Zone Quality, and the Supply Chain to ensure all new product lens requirements for feasibility, development, validation, pilot, launch inventory, and final production are met in terms of scheduling

and shipping. Analyze opportunities to reduce lead times to bring new products to market sooner.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Initiate studies to review alternative scheduling options that will increase efficiency and yields. Examples could be low runner SKUs versus high runner SKUs, or scheduling based on lens weight versus product type.
  • Develop metrics and communication tools to measure the effectiveness of scheduling.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor execution of schedule based on capacities.
  • Maintain a perpetual capacity/constraint database for all equipment in the facility. Initiate studies to include O.E.E. (Overall Equipment Efficiencies).
  • Provide accurate data to customers on yield, service level, and other information as requested.
  • Analyze data to determine if issues exist. Make recommendation to address constraints based on data analysis.
  • Establish goals and action plans to support sales and inventory plans. Develop metrics to measure scheduling impact on sales and inventory.
  • Manage the product flow through the facility from molding to shipping.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports as required.
  • Ensure training and cross training is provided and tools are developed to support the production control group.
  • Monitor and control insert inventories.
  • Be an active member of department and facility teams. Actively participates and shares knowledge with team members and other teams. Challenges the team with new ideas and models good work habits. Attends and participates in internal team meetings. Supports the success of the team and takes initiative and responsibility to ensure the team's goals and objectives are met. Helps others to achieve and succeed with team objectives and supports the growth and development of their team.
  • Supports the facility's policies and procedures and is responsible for a healthy and safe team environment.
  • Takes pride and ownership in their own work, the facility, and the team area.
  • Serves as a training resource.
  • Participates and or supports in the STARpoint system and/or other teams.
  • Supports the development of others.
  • Perform other duties as required.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Minimum 5 PLUS years' experience in a high-volume SKU inventory production scheduling environment.
  • Proven leadership.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • S. Degree preferred.
  • APICS certification preferred.

Pay Range:83,774.16-126,849.80
