CNC Setup/Operator Machinist

CNC Setup/Operator Machinist (3rd Shift 11:00PM-6:30AM)

Key Skills/Experience:

• Experience on CNC Vertical Milling machines.
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments. Instruments include but not limited to calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, height stands and scales.
• Strong understanding in blueprint reading and some geometric tolerancing interpretation.
• Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, drills, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines.
• Must be able to follow written or oral instructions.
• Must be able to communicate in English as it relates to the job.
• Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
• Must be able to work flexible hours due to customer demand.
• Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division.
• Understand a CNC program and able to do some editing if needed.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Interprets drawings, manuals, specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
• Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine, within capabilities, controls as required to ensure quality of productions.
• Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
