Description Location: NAWCTSD Orlando, FL Security Clearance Requirement: Active Top Secret Telework Eligible? No What You'll Do: We have an opportunity for a Software Developer to support a mission-focused program at NAWCTSD in Orlando, FL. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide horizontal integration of System Software across and within segments.
- Support Product and Functional IPT leads and IPT-embedded Software SMEs.
- Coordinate with Navy Sponsors and contractors to update/correct requirements/designs.
- Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system concepts
This description outlines the general nature and scope of the role. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Requirements What You'll Bring:
- B.S. in electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited institution. Coursework specializing in computer hardware and software is desired.
- 5 years of practical experience in software systems engineering associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains.
- 5 years of experience with software engineering functions such as, requirement analysis and definition, configuration management, quality assurance, unit and system level testing, reliability and maintainability, cost estimating, risk analysis/assessment, and human factors is required.
- 5 years of experience with current and emerging software development methodologies, processes, and life-cycle models, (e.g. CMM, CMMI, IEEE-12207, Waterfall, and Spiral).
- 5 years of experience with current and developing military equipment and systems.
- 5 years of experience with a wide range of non-engineering, non-scientific information in the form of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, DoD/DON/NA VAIR policies, directives, and instructions and must know the - applicability of these documents to assignments.
- 5 years of experience with software and technical Military and Commercial Standards (e.g. MIL-STD, DOD-STD, IEEE, ISO, and ANSI).
- 2 years of US Government acquisition experience, with 1 year in a DoD program directly supporting Training and/or Training Systems Acquisition.
- Experience with Linux-based systems is desired
