Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position $36,400 - $49,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Position Location: Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio Telework/Work-from-Home Authorized: Yes - When Authorized/Hybrid About the Role: The Exhibits Specialist will support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), at the Display Production Facility (DPF), at WPAFB, along with a team of Graphics Designers and Exhibits Specialists, to provide Display, Exhibit, Public Affairs, Marketing, and Graphics Services. In rendering these services, outputs may take the form of information, advice, opinions, alternatives, analyses, evaluations, recommendations, static or virtual displays, presentations, marketing materials, and reports to complement the Government's technical expertise in accomplishing its mission. Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:
- Display/Exhibit Design - Provide advice and assistance, related to products and services, to enable the customer to make informed decisions regarding options, time constraints, and associated cost. Provide a proposed floor plan to the government focal point prior to each display/exhibit.
- Review sketches or scale drawings for temporary or permanent display or exhibit structures to determine type, layout, and cost of material needed.
- Confer with exhibit planning and art personnel to discuss structural feasibility and to suggest alternate methods of displaying objects in exhibits.
- Display/Exhibit/Graphics Cost Estimate and Close Out - Provide an estimate for each work order that includes the estimated cost of material, shipping, event site fees, travel, and any other related expenses.
- Display/Exhibit Assembly - Assemble complete and fully functional displays in the DPF staging area to allow sufficient time for customer review and modification.
- Test electrical, electronic, and mechanical components of exhibit structure to verify operation.
- Transportation - Repair displays/exhibits for shipping, to and from event sites. Ship and receive displays at the DPF. Ship the display/exhibit and any associated contents.
- Travel within the United States and to international locations may be required. Personnel performing foreign travel shall possess a passport.
- Display and Exhibit Support - Provide support at event sites, to include set-up, tear-down, and daily opening and closing of exhibits. Perform any repairs, modifications, and adjustments to displays/exhibits required to meet event site requirements.
- Use of basic hand and power tools is required.
- Woodworking/carpentry skills are a plus.
- Install fittings and fixtures, such as shelves, panel boards, shadow boxes, audiovisual components, or control equipment to a framework, according to design specification.
- Install or affix graphics onto fixtures.
- Assemble, install, or arrange structures in exhibit galleries.
- Set-up and configuration of audio-visual equipment.
- Open and close exhibits daily, as required.
- Must be able to operate forklift.
- Customer Display/Exhibit Instruction - When an event does not require on-site support, we shall provide information and instruction to the customer that will allow the customer to properly unpack, assemble, use, disassemble, repack, and ship the display/exhibit back to Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.
- Display and Exhibit Improvement - Make recommendations on process modifications, application of new technology, or alternative solutions that would enhance, the DPF, capabilities, provide economics in operation, or resolve deficiencies.
- Display and Exhibit Maintenance - Inspect all display/exhibit systems and components before and after each use and provide necessary minor repairs. Minor repairs include appraising damage, cleaning, and mending, tightening, or replacing hardware, nuts and bolts.
- Inventory and Storage of Display Materials, Equipment, and Tools - Store, retrieve and maintain display components, materials and equipment at the Government provided DPF. Comply with WPAFB and OSHA standards for storage.
- Work requirements outside normal duty hours may be required to provide display/exhibit services.
- Maintain documentation for all assigned work orders and file digital images to allow reconstruction of any given display.
- Responsible for safeguarding and securing all government equipment, information, and property, and performing end-of-day security checks.
- Assist with proposal development, if necessary.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
- Six (6) years of functional area experience, or a combination of education and years of experience.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- Six (6) years of relevant experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.
- Four (4) years of relevant experience and BA/BS degree is equivalent to a Master's degree.
Other Required Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Security Clearance Requirements: Secret Clearance US Citizenship Requirements: This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Sawdey Solution Services to staff it only with U.S. Citizens. |
