SUMMARY The Validation Engineer will work with the Test Equipment Engineers, Product Team, Advanced Quality Engineers (AQE), Quality Engineers (QE), and customers as appropriate to interpret and/or develop product specifications, test methods and test plans required for defining and validating our products. The ideal candidate will enjoy hands on work in a very dynamic setting and have previous automotive industry and testing experience. The Validation Engineer works closely with and provides training to the Test Lab Technicians/Specialists, interfaces with Test Equipment Engineers, Product Engineers and AQE/QE to ensure the performance specification and product are understood. This position is a mix of mechanical, electrical and software engineering so an ability to learn new methods and skills is a must. While the primary focus of this role is testing and testing methods, this engineer may be called on to support test quoting, test equipment maintenance and calibration, capital requisition and justification, and test fixture development, build, verification, and runoff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Responsibilities (as appropriate, based on product group / location):
Develop procedures, methods and tools for test, verification and certification of products
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE : Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Master's degree (MS/MA) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required. Good oral and written English language skills. German and/or Spanish language knowledge desirable. Strong technical writing skills.
