For more information, visit our website at www.kearfott.com Job Summary: The Trade Compliance Specialist role involves executing daily compliance activities related to international trade at the Kearfott North Carolina facility. This role supports export/import operations, licensing activities, investigations, and training initiatives while partnering cross-functionally to maintain compliance and support international business growth. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience or 4 years with a graduate degree in support of international trade programs. Key Responsibilities: * As part of the trade compliance team, you will complete daily activities to support compliance with the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). * Manage export license applications, collaborating with the global trade team and internal/external parties for review and approval. * Review shipment documentation for compliance with ITAR, EAR, and Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR) requirements including export authorizations, HTS/ECCN classification, country of origin, and valuation. * Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions. * Support training initiatives on export compliance to ensure a knowledgeable and educated workforce. * Collaborate with logistics, procurement, legal, and sales teams to ensure smooth international transactions while mitigating risks. * Maintain records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements. Qualifications & Requirements: * Education: Bachelor's degree in international business, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. * Experience: 3+ years of experience in trade compliance, import/export regulations, or a related field in the USA and Mexico. * Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. export regulations including ITAR, EAR, FTR, OFAC, and customs regulations. * Skills: * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Strong communication and training abilities. * Attention to detail and ability to manage complex regulatory processes. * Certifications: Industry certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Compliance Professional (CECP) are a plus. * Must be US Citizen. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in the aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industries. * Experience working with trade compliance software and ERP systems. * Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment.
