Title: Registered Nurse (RN - General, Dialysis, Mental Health) - Region 5
Location: Orient, OH 43146
Shift: Flexible (6:00 PM - 7:20 AM)
Hours/Week: 40
Duration: 3 + Months ( Possibility of extension )
Position Overview
- The RN will provide professional nursing care to patients in a correctional or mental health setting.
- This includes direct patient care, specialized nursing procedures, and clinical coordination.
- Flexible scheduling is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Role & Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including mental health and psychiatric care.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Take vital signs and administer medications, treatments, and immunizations.
- Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and coordinate hospital transfers if needed.
- Monitor restrained or isolated patients according to safety protocols.
Specialized Procedures:
- IV therapy, chemotherapy, dialysis, wound care, oxygen therapy, and blood transfusions.
- Tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, phlebotomy, and CPR.
Clinical Coordination:
- Assist physicians with diagnostic evaluations and patient care plans.
- Lead Code Blue emergency response teams.
- Supervise healthcare staff, including LPNs and aides.
- Develop, review, and update patient care plans.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation of treatments and medications.
- Complete incident and accident reports.
- Maintain inventory of medications and medical supplies.
- Coordinate outpatient appointments, physician consultations, and prescriptions.
Requirements:
- Licensure: Current Ohio RN license, BLS OR CPR.
- Experience: Mental health/psychiatric nursing required; dialysis experience preferred.
- Skills: Computer literate, physically able to handle extensive walking.
- Other: Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
