- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to Cloud Applications in a timely manner.
- Ensure the optimal performance and reliability of Cloud based Systems.
- Proactively communicate with business users, stakeholders, technical peers, and project teams.
- Conduct investigations and follow standards to resolve.
- Recommend improvements to the cloud platform.
- Proactively monitor the platform and provide a support response.
- Work within the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code where possible.
- Create and maintain process and procedure documentation.
- Adhere to change control policies and procedures.
- Apply best practice with IAM, RBAC and PIMs.
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Participate in the On-Call rotation for out-of-hours support.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Skill evaluation: Behavioral (80%)
- Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical or practical problems.
- Experience with a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Experience with containerized workloads.
- Foundational Understanding of DNS and networking.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, Automation tools and runtime environments such as Terraform, PowerShell or Bicep.
- Understanding of Source code repositories like Gitlab or GitHub.
- Understanding of CI/CD tools like Jenkins for Gitlab.
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or equivalent certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner)
- Understanding cloud native architecture.
Cloud Engineer I
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience working as an Engineer or Administrator within IT Operations.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer or Administrator preferred.
Cloud Engineer II
- Ensure compliance of systems through existing standards and procedures. Identify gaps in compliance and remediate in a timely manner. Recommend changes to improve procedures.
- Routinely work on multiple high priority projects and resolutions in parallel.
- Recommend, deploy, maintain, and operating systems supporting cloud operations such as automation systems - CI/CD Pipeline, code repositories, and management systems.
- Adapt to evolving technical requirements by independently acquiring new skills and certifications relevant to cloud computing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years hands-on Cloud Engineer experience required. For internal candidates, experience can be a combination of internal and external experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working as an Engineer within IT Operations.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenShift.
Cloud Engineer III
- Take a lead role on issues and escalate to appropriate teams and management if required.
- Develop modernization plans where Infrastructure as Code is not possible.
- Provide technical guidance and instruction to the wider technical teams.
- Stay current with emerging Cloud technologies, trends, and best practices to ensure the organization leverages cutting-edge solutions.
- Oversee risk management, high availability planning and architecture.
- Effective communication of Cloud technologies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive the adoption of advanced Cloud services and governance frameworks to optimize cost, performance, and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 4+ years hands-on Cloud Engineer experience required. For internal candidates, experience can be a combination of internal and external experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working in Hybrid technologies as an engineer.
- Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or equivalent preferred.
