Title: Server Engineer Salary Range: $125,000 - $140,000 Status: Exempt Location: Remote Eligible Reports to: Director, IT GENERAL DISCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE: Reporting to the Director of IT, this role manages on premises server infrastructure and Azure cloud environments with a focus on deployment, maintenance, security, and performance optimization. Responsibilities include administering virtual machines, Active Directory/Entra ID, and overseeing the daily work of the IT Structured Cabling Technician. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION: * Develop, plan, and implement projects that are aligned with the overall strategic goals of the organization's server systems. Evaluates and participates in the recommendation of changes to the current and future server infrastructure to ensure they will meet the organization's needs. * Provide analysis, development, and operational support of servers, storage, virtualization, supporting new services and solutions. * Able to develop and manage a scalable and secure Microsoft Azure Cloud solution with real-time monitoring, backup and maintenance. * Develop, test, and manage disaster recovery plans and data backups to prevent data loss. * Using tools like PowerShell, Ansible, and Python to automate routine tasks. * Overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing and outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. * Serve as Level 3 support for complex technical issues that cannot be resolved by standard IT and Process engineering staff. * Manage user access via Active Directory, conducting vulnerability assessments, and ensuring systems meet industry standards. * Serve as Microsoft Teams Voice administrator working with our 3rd Party vendor to design, implement and manage enterprise-level voice solutions, including Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and calling plans. * Troubleshoot call quality (using CQD and SIP traces), managing user policies, and ensure network readiness for voice. * Build strong working relationships with the IT Managed Services Team, Desktop Support, Process Engineers, internal customers/end-users and other internal and external partners. * Develop and maintain documentation of functions and services. * Creates and updates incident and change management activities to streamline ticket resolution. * Ensure the key performance indicators are implemented for the process efficiency and continuously propose enhancements to the process. * Enforce change control procedures and serve as a liaison to the Services team and the business for scheduling maintenance outages. * Ensure the installation of firmware patches and updates to all server devices and software are performed in a timely manner. * Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. * May give input into developing the budget for the functional area and service. * Other duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: * 5+ years of IT Server related Services experience; 1-2 years of Azure networking and server administration * 1-3 years of supervisory experience * Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels * Skills and experience of running projects effectively is essential * Capable of working under pressure/using own initiative with minimal supervision. * Organized, methodical work-style, paying attention to detail and able to work independently. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Good oral and written skills, good communicator. * Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and product development. * Expertise with MS Office software, including Visio, Word, Excel, and PPT. * Must be able to multi-task, manage multiple competing priorities, and remain calm under pressure. * Adhere to all personal protective environment gear requirements and safety practices * Deep knowledge of Azure Compute, Storage, and networking * Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux * Previous experience in systems administration, virtualization (Hyper-V/VMWare), and cloud migration projects * Experience in ITIL is desirable * Bilingual communication in English and Spanish is desirable. * Must possess a valid Driver's License PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Ability to climb stairs, be stationary for long periods of time, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS * Must be available to work irregular and/or changing shifts including holidays and weekends. * Must be available to travel as work requirements demand. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION * Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred. * Microsoft Certifications preferred (including Microsoft Azure AZ-104 and AZ-305 ).
