As part of the FOX family, you will receive generous time off, 401k matching, a wealth of employee resources and superior medical, dental and vision benefits from day 1!

This role sits at the center of our newsroom's real-time coverage and represents the evolution of the assignment desk in a modern newsroom. This position ensures that every major story reaches audiences wherever they watch - live on television, streaming on CTV, scrolling on social, or searching online. You'll coordinate breaking news response, deploy field crews, and live technology, launch streams, author digital stories, and turn major events into high-impact content across linear, streaming, mobile, CTV, and social platforms. If you thrive in fast-moving news environments and understand how audiences consume live and on-demand content, this role is for you.

About the Role

The Digital Content & Assignment Editor blends the urgency and editorial judgment of a traditional assignment editor with the execution skills of a digital producer.

You will be:

  • Monitoring scanners, wires, and social feeds

  • Coordinating linear & digital coverage and setting up interviews

  • Provide seamless collaboration between linear, streaming, and digital teams

  • Deploying reporters, photographers, and LiveU/TVU technology

  • Communicating real-time updates across the newsroom

  • Monitoring and quality-controlling live field feeds

  • Launching and managing live streams on FOX Local, YouTube, mobile, and CTV

  • Writing and publishing web stories

  • Creating VOD clips during breaking news and major events

  • Optimizing headlines, descriptions, and metadata for reach

  • Publishing vertical and social-first content for platforms like Instagram and TikTok

This is not just a coordination role; it's a storytelling and distribution role.

What We're Looking For

  • A digital producer who understands streaming and SEO but wants deeper involvement in breaking news

  • An assignment editor ready to expand into live streaming and multi-platform publishing

  • A newsroom professional who understands both field operations and audience growth

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Strong news judgment and calm decision-making under pressure

  • Experience launching or managing live streams

  • Comfort writing fast, accurate web stories

  • Familiarity with YouTube publishing best practices (titles, thumbnails, tags, audience retention)

  • Understanding of how content performs differently across platforms

  • Experience with live transmission technology or willingness to learn

  • A collaborative mindset and effective communication skills

  • 4-year college degree preferred

  • 2 years' experience as a digital producer or assignment editor preferred

  • Availability to work weekends, holiday, and irregular hours as the job requires

If you believe breaking news doesn't end at the live shot - and that strong storytelling continues across platforms - we want to hear from you.
