At Airgas, the Distribution Manager is responsible for optimizing the safe, effective and efficient distribution of product and supporting and guiding the team of drivers within a territory. This includes delivery order management and shipment routing (inter-company shuttles, trailer, and bulk deliveries), fleet maintenance, record keeping and compliance and overall training and effectiveness of the team.

Ideally, you will also lead and harmonize the activities of CDL Drivers dedicated to transporting products by use of industrial trucks.

  • Compliance & Documentation Maintain all required D.O.T. inspection reports and manifests, verify and release tickets, and any additional documentation needed in the support of branch drivers. Review and process daily all Department of Transportation (DOT) documentation; vehicle condition reports and drivers hours of service, route efficiency, and completion. Submit all required D.O.T. paperwork (hours of service logs, manifests, VIRs, etc.) and additional reports in an accurate and timely manner to the appropriate individuals.

  • Operational Excellence Advance continuous improvement in daily distribution operations. Prepare load sheets, delivery tickets, and manifests and emphasize any key customer needs. Ensure loads are accurate and complete.

  • Collaboration & Planning Foster alignment between distribution and sales. Plan delivery by organizing truck loads and routing schedules. Communicates goals to the team and coordinates responsibilities. Collaborate on or adjust work schedules and procedures to meet delivery schedules.

  • A current TX CDL A, with Hazmat and Airbrakes certifications.

  • An up-to-date Medical Examiner's certification, reflecting your commitment to safety and professional standards.

  • A proven background in coordinating delivery logistics and a passion for guiding and supporting a professional driving team. We value the expertise you've built through your experience in the field and are looking for someone ready to advance our distribution excellence.

  • Ideally, you bring solid experience in guiding and empowering teams within a distribution and logistics community. We are looking for a contributor who has a track record of fostering a positive team culture while ensuring operational excellence.

  • Familiarity with the safe shipment of materials within DOT and FDA standards.

  • A deep appreciation for and expertise in FMCSA and CDL/DOT safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of our team and the communities we serve.

  • As a key contributor to our operations, we look forward to supporting you in securing necessary DISA and customer authorizations. Ideally, a current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is necessary to help you successfully partner with our team and clients from day one.

In this role, you should be comfortable with the physical nature of the distribution environment, which includes regularly lifting up to 60 pounds and moving more than 125 pounds utilizing provided support tools and material handling equipment.
