HOW WILL YOU HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS?
This position supports administration, configuration, data administration, and testing of computer systems and applications core to Peoples Gas GIS System and Services. This position will also serve as the lead for department's Release Management Process.
SCOPE: Works under direct supervision and the guidance of more senior staff on routine assignments; follows established policies and procedures.
Responsible for the support, administration, configuration, data administration, and testing of computer systems and applications core to Peoples Gas GIS System and Services. Works closely with customers and technical staff to deliver solutions that meet the current and future business goals of Peoples Gas GIS System and Services, in alignment with company strategies and business plans. Facilitates the optimization of departmental performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and technology. Serves as a liaison between GIS and those who develop systems and provide technical support for systems, namely programming staff and software vendors.
Translates high-level business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to such specifications. Formulates and defines scope and objectives for assigned projects. Leads or participates on software implementation projects.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position is required. Related experience consists of: operations support working in GIS, performing duties of technical release facilitator, IT Support, report writing, data extracts, queries and analysis.
- Knowledge of end-user support or process analysis related to GIS which includes GPS, WAM, EMS.
- Knowledge of workflows in applicable systems with ability to understand and document baseline test results.
- Must have solid interpersonal and communication skills to build and foster relationships with GIS internal and external stakeholders.
- Minimum of one year experience serving in a role and facilitating a Release Management Process.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learns and performs basic configuration and tests computer-based applications which support GIS.
- Creates reports, queries and data extracts of limited diversity, providing data to users as requested. Monitors supported applications to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Assists higher level Technology Analysts in assignments or projects providing input related to definition of requirements and recommendations of appropriate solutions.
- Serves as a liaison between GIS and other technical groups. Develops relationships with key customers including face-to-face, on-site interactions. Conducts meetings and communicates with end-users and stakeholders to provide timely and accurate information and updates.
- Builds a thorough understanding of supported business areas and current and future processes.
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE?
- An Associate's Degree in business or related technology is desirable and may be considered in lieu of some related experience.
- Standard Query Language (SQL), Report Writing Tool, Microsoft Power BI and the ability to create GIS Ad Hoc queries. Field Ops Locating experience is preferred.

EMERGECNY RESPONSE REQUIREMENTS
TECO Energy and its companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our TECO Energy customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.
A pre-employment drug screening, as well as a background check (including education, employment, criminal and motor vehicle) will also be conducted as part of the pre-employment screening. A physical may be conducted if required for the role.
