Summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team in Dallas, TX. This individual will work a hybrid schedule (three days per week in the office, two from home) and provide financial reporting and analysis. Customer service and relationship management skills are extremely important to be successful in this position.


Essential Functions

The successful candidate demonstrates a commitment to add value to our business by providing timely and accurate reporting and analyses key to management decisions. The Financial Analyst position has the following responsibilities in their role:

Financial Reporting Responsibilities



  • Prepare various month-end close deliverables and reconciliations
  • Perform quarterly, half year, and year end responsibilities
  • Construct projection files based on Division inputs for P02, P05, and P08 (budget)
  • Support planning and forecasting processes, including work performed within PBCS
  • Prepare data for various industry surveys
  • Create Ad Hoc reporting for management and other corporate departments
  • Manage processes efficiently with others to meet deadlines
  • Support interim and year-end external audits, as well as tax-related requests and deliverables
  • Perform miscellaneous duties, as assigned
  • Ability to navigate data sets efficiently and work with various systems/tools with the goal of process improvement
  • Hyperion product experience a plus, particularly HFM and PBCS. Power BI experience a plus. Strong Excel skills - VLOOKUP function and Pivot Tables required.
  • Familiar working in an ERP system and booking month-end journal entries as needed. JD Edwards experience a plus

Working Conditions

  • The majority of work is completed in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing and walking. This is a hybrid position (three days per week in the office, two from home).


Education, Experience, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 1 to 3 years of financial analysis or audit (external and/or internal) experience. Experience in the Construction industry and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic with a "Will Do" attitude to meet tight deadlines particularly around month-end close
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrating the ability to identify unique or unusual trends and drive issues through to resolution
  • Strong communication skills including ability to clearly and concisely obtain and relay information both verbally and in writing timely
  • Self-motivating, high energy, confident personality that can interact with all levels including senior management
  • Demonstrates proficiency using personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, accounting applications and Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
