Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in technically related field. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of relevant engineering software and Microsoft Excel. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations To perform this job successfully, a certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt, or enrollment in the Tyco Green Belt Training is helpful. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit, use both hands to touch or feel items, reach with both hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell, and perform repetitive motion. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. This position is considered a medium- to heavy-duty position, meaning that the individual employee may be regularly required to lift and/or move between 25 and 50 pounds. In addition, the employee may be required to lift and/or move over 50 pounds with assistance. The employee will also be required to push/pull up to 300 pounds, a distance of 100 feet, once per shift using a cart. These physical requirements are necessary to move panels using a cart, and to move other equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather). The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. This position requires working with open-top chemical tanks. The noise level in the work environment can vary between moderate and loud. When working in areas where the noise level is loud, hearing protection is required.
