CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Construction Inspection Team in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you'll take a hands on position overseeing inspection efforts for large scale, complex infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals, lead critical components of active construction work, and play a key role in delivering high quality infrastructure that supports and connects communities every day.



What You'll Do:

    Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct a major construction project-or multiple smaller projects with complex features
  • Observe and lead on site construction inspection activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and standards
  • Maintain a detailed daily project diary and all project contract administration records in alignment with established standards
  • Review and verify contractor pay quantities and serve as a key liaison with local government clients
  • Oversee field inspection staff, collaborating with project designers to navigate project challenges and maintain client satisfaction
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, chairing all project related meetings and overseeing the preparation and distribution of meeting minutes
  • Oversee the overall quality and successful completion of the project, including traveling as required and coordinating all project-related matters


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction inspection experience required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex contracts and client requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of construction industry standards, practices, and quality expectations
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading construction inspection staff
  • Physical ability to navigate active job sites and adapt to varying field conditions
  • NICET Level IV certification or PE license preferred

Salary Range:

$50.00 - $53.00

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
