Site Overview

FXI's Spencerville, Ohio facility is part of a national manufacturing network dedicated to advanced foam innovation and production, serving multiple markets, with a primary focus on the bedding and furniture industries.


Job Overview

As the Quality Manager you will oversee the site's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001 standards while driving continuous improvement across the plan and will also lead and develop a team of Lab and Quality Technicians to support the plant's technical needs and quality objectives.



Responsibilities:


  • Administer the Site Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure all elements in relationship to the plant quality system meet or exceed ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Produce Quality metrics and Key Process Indicators (KPI's) as required by the QMS.
  • Owner of plant nonconforming material program, equipment calibration program, document control program and product complaint investigation.
  • Manage the internal audit program to establish consistent adherence to ISO 9001 requirements and that maintains plant readiness when followed.
  • Develop and Manage Quality Planning activities through the use of Advanced Product Quality Planning methods and other Core Quality Tools, e.g. PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA.
  • Administration of Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) system and work with engineering disciplines to develop process validations.
  • Product, review and approve all elements/documentation associated with Design Control and Design Transfer activities.
  • Conduct quality system and QMS training.
  • Managing on-site Corporate Lab and associated 17025 accreditation.
  • Lead and develop two full-time Lab Technicians to become a true service organization to support the plant in training and technical troubleshooting to achieve plant and company goals.




Qualifications:


  • 3 - 5 years' experience in Quality Engineering and Management in an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Relevant certification(s) from recognized organizations such as ASQ (American Society for Quality) are a plus.
  • Demonstrated use of AIAG Core Quality tools and methodologies including experience in application and use of FMEA's, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, HARM (Risk Analysis), Fault Tree Analysis, Root Cause and Corrective/Preventative Action.
  • Practical knowledge of applied statistical tools, including process capability and Statistical Process Control.
  • To be effective, this position requires Customer Focus, Constant Improvement and Results Orientation as core character traits.
  • Have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos and be able to prepare and effectively present information in one-on-one, small, and large group situations to customers, clients, and other associates within the organization.
