Job Summary

The Recruiter serves as a brand ambassador for Mesa Community College (MCC), advancing enrollment goals by building and nurturing meaningful relationships and delivering engaging, student-centered outreach. With a focus on strengthening and growing the MCC student pipeline, this role connects with prospective, interested, new, and returning students, families, and community partners through high school visits, campus tours, college fairs, community events, presentations, programming, and personalized outreach via email, phone, text/chat, virtual, and in-person communication.

The Recruiter develops and leads engaging presentations and enrollment events that inspire students and clearly communicate MCC's programs, opportunities, and pathways to success. Through proactive follow-up and individualized and group support, the Recruiter guides students through each stage of the enrollment process, helping them transition smoothly from prospect to enrolled student. This role contributes to increasing conversion rates by ensuring students receive timely, accurate information and feel supported and confident in their decision to attend MCC.

Using enrollment technologies and Customer Relation Management (CRM) systems, the Recruiter manages outreach workflows, tracks student engagement and events, completes recruitment activities, and monitors progress toward enrollment goals. By leveraging data and technology, the Recruiter helps ensure efficient processes and measurable outcomes that support institutional priorities.

Adaptable, collaborative, and student-focused, the Recruiter thrives in a fast-paced environment and represents MCC with professionalism and enthusiasm. The Recruiter demonstrates a team-oriented mindset by proactively stepping in to support colleagues and address emerging needs where shared ownership and flexibility ensure students receive seamless and timely support. This role is committed to helping students feel welcomed, supported, and prepared for success while contributing to the continued growth and strength of the MCC student community.

Essential Functions

30% Recruitment, Outreach, and Enrollment Guidance
  • Develops, coordinates, and implements strategies for recruiting new and returning students in alignment with MCCCD/MCC strategic enrollment goals.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with partner high schools, community organizations, workforce agencies, and other strategic partners.
  • Plans, coordinates, and delivers or participates in recruitment events, campus tours, presentations, programming, and outreach programs to prospective students, families, counselors, and community partners.
  • Meets with students in person or virtually to provide individual or group support.

30% Outreach
  • Represents MCC at college fairs, community events, high schools, and other outreach opportunities.
  • Performs outreach via phone, text, email, and other tools.
  • Engages with prospective students from first inquiry through enrollment, providing personalized guidance on admissions, transfer pathways, Financial Aid (FAFSA), scholarships, and course selection.

25% Data Management, CRM, and Market Analysis
  • Uses CRM and other data systems to track prospective student engagement from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Performs data analysis, market research, and prepares reports to assess recruitment and enrollment strategies.
  • Develops targeted campaigns for prospective students, recent stop-outs, and other retention initiatives.

15% Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Special Projects
  • Works collaboratively with Enrollment Services (Admissions & Records, Financial Aid, Testing, Advising, Cashiers), academic programs, marketing, and other MCC/MCCCD departments.
  • Provides support for cross-functional initiatives and special events such as peak enrollment periods, new student welcome sessions, orientation, dual enrollment onboarding, and other college events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of Higher Education.
  2. Experience in recruitment, outreach, customer service or support, or a sales role with a record of achieving measurable results.
  3. Experience planning, coordinating, or participating in presentations, workshops, tours, college fairs, events, or orientations.
  4. Experience using technology tools (such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM platforms, or similar systems) to organize work, manage communications, or complete tasks.
  5. Experience building and maintaining professional relationships with students, customers, clients, partners, or community members.
  6. Experience managing multiple tasks, deadlines, or projects in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  8. One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years.


Special Working Conditions

Work schedule varies during the year: August through mid-May: Monday - Friday, 8 hour days; mid-May through the end of July: Monday - Thursday, 10 hour days.

May require working evening and weekend hours (example: recruiting events, community events)

Required to sit or stand for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor

May be required to travel or be assigned to another MCCD location.

Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense
