Job Description




As a Inmate Transportation Officer in Milwaukee, WI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal officer supporting a government inmate transportation mission, you will help maintain order during vehicle movements and facility transitions, complete required checks and documentation, and communicate clearly with staff and the public. You will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents while delivering respectful, professional service. This is a driving post that requires a valid driver's license.

Pay Rate: $28.00 / Hour

Must be 21+ years of age and must have a valid driver's license

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to government personnel and the public by following Allied Universal protocols, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response procedures related to inmate transport operations.
  • Support transport teams with controlled access and credential verification at sally ports, transfer points, staging areas, and/or related government locations, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or interference.
  • Observe and report unusual activity, contraband indicators, and/or policy violations during vehicle arrivals, departures, and transfers, maintaining a calm, problem-solving approach during incidents and critical situations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas such as perimeters, parking and/or vehicle staging zones, and transfer corridors as permitted by site procedures and operational needs.
  • Complete required documentation such as incident reports, activity logs, and chain-of-custody related entries, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and/or responding agencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A concealed carry weapons permit is required.
  • A graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent is required.
  • A college degree is required.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A corrections officer license is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
